Using the Portal
A walkthrough of every screen, by tab.
Home
The landing screen after sign-in - an overview of your site.
- Camera grid - thumbnails of every camera at the selected site, with a status indicator (online/offline). Tap a camera to jump to its detail page.
- Map - your site's location with camera positions.
- Recent events - the latest few AI detections / alerts from your cameras, with a link through to the full Events tab.
Cameras
List view
Every camera at the selected site, with name, a status badge, and a thumbnail. Tap a camera to open its detail page.

Two tabs: Live/Playback and Schedule (Schedule only appears if your account has edit access for this site).
Live / Playback tab
- Live view - tap Start Live View to begin streaming via WebRTC (WHEP). This is on-demand: video only flows while you're watching. Leaving the page or going idle stops the stream automatically.
- Snapshot - a still image shown behind the Start Live View button, with a refresh option.
- Playback timeline - a 24-hour scrubber under the player showing
recorded segments for the selected day (pulled from the camera's SD card).
- Tap anywhere on the timeline to play back from that point.
- Drag to pan across the day, scroll/pinch to zoom in on a time range.
- Gaps in the timeline mean nothing was recorded then - often because nothing triggered recording (see Schedule below), or because older footage has already been overwritten by newer recordings. SD cards typically hold only days to weeks of footage, so older events may no longer have playable video.
- Pause/resume - pause freezes on the current frame so you can step away and pick up again from the same point.
If your site is on the Cloud Backup plan, short clips around each event are kept in cloud storage and remain available from the Events tab even after the camera's SD card has overwritten that footage.
Schedule tab
(Visible only if your account has edit access to this site.)
Two sub-tabs, each a 7-day visual editor on a 15-minute grid:
- Recording schedule - when this camera records. Drag across the grid to paint blocks of time; different recording types are shown in different colours (e.g. continuous, motion-triggered).
- Arming schedule - when the alarm/detection is active for this camera (armed = AI detections and alerts are generated; disarmed = the camera keeps recording per its schedule but won't raise alerts).
Changes are saved and pushed to the camera - this can take a short time to apply. If you don't see the Schedule tab, your account is view-only for this site; contact SiteView to request changes.
Events
A list of AI detections and alerts from your site's cameras, grouped by date (most recent first).
- Each event shows the camera, event type (e.g. person detected, line crossing, tamper, camera offline/online), and timestamp.
- If a clip was captured for the event (cloud-backup sites, or footage still on the SD card), tap the event to play it back.
- Use this tab to quickly review "what happened today" without scrubbing through live timelines on every camera.
Control
Site-wide actions - only visible/usable if your account has edit access.
- Arm All / Disarm All - arm or disarm every camera at the site in one action, instead of doing it camera-by-camera.
- Schedules - apply a recording or arming schedule to every camera at the site at once (the same 7-day/15-minute editor as on an individual camera's Schedule tab, applied in bulk).
Use this when you want consistent behaviour across the whole site - e.g. disarming everything while staff are on-site during the day, then re-arming for overnight.
Documents
(Accessible from More on mobile, or the account menu on desktop.)
Quotes, bookings and invoices for the selected site, plus any reference files your account has been given access to.
- List - each entry shows the document type (Quote / Booking / Invoice), date, status (sent / paid / overdue), and balance. Files (e.g. site plans shared by SiteView) appear alongside, with a category label.
- Tap a quote/booking/invoice to see its line items, totals (subtotal, GST, total, paid, balance), and payment history. This is read-only - for payment arrangements, contact SiteView.
- Tap a file to open it in a new tab.
Only documents SiteView has marked as visible to the portal appear here - internal-only quotes, drafts, and site files aren't shown.
